Envelope started rapping in 1998 as a sophomore at Whetstone High School. That year he joined the crew Sons of the North Wind. Although no material was recorded it led to Envelope meeting up with his current crew The Thought Collective. Comprised of rappers from several different Columbus neighborhoods and high schools. The Thought Collective (a/k/a Thought Set) quickly gained a reputation for being young, talented and often times a little to rambunctious. After several years of developing his style and skill, Envelope finally decided to step forward with a solo project.

In 2003 he met up with his DJ/Producer Amos Famous whom he had known through mutual friends.

What first started out as material for a friend’s birthday party turned into the solo debut Envelope EP, released in 2004 on Easter Island Recordings.

This led to a series of shows in Columbus and started a buzz, which landed him on the Columbus Alive Bands to Watch in 2005. In 2005 he has finished his debut full length Insignificant Anthems that is slated for release on Weightless Recordings in October 2005.
