Zero Star began freestyling in middle school at lunch tables and school buses. He wrote his first rhyme as a freshman in high school. After moving to Columbus when he was 16, he found a few like minded individuals. No group was formed however, but cyphers became the normal as well as the occassional battle with some rival classmates.

Zero found comfort in the early days on the Columbus hip hop scene hitting any and every open mic. It was there where he developed the confidence to begin entering battles. Around that time along side another young up and coming battler named Meta4.ce they became battle enemies.

In late 2003, Zero and Meta4ce formed a group called "Him and Me."

With no producer willing to take the group in a chance meeting with Up-and-coming producer Ree-Dic led to recorded material. A buzz began about the young group with each show that followed.

In 2004, Him and Me recorded an EP with local star DJ Przm (of The Spitball Krew), which was set to be released through Fonosluts Records. However, since the duo were at different points in their lives, Zero decided to move forward without Meta4.ce and go solo.

In Nov 05' Zero released The Problem Child EP with the help of Ree-Dic, Amos Famous, and DJ Przm. The EP was received so well it led to him being titled one of Columbus' Top 5 acts to Watch in 2006 in the Columbus Alive newspaper. Then, one year later, in Nov of 06', Zerostar released 'Forever's Never Really That Long' on Weightless Recordings.
